Organization background
InnoHK Centre for Eye and Vision Research Limited (CEVR) is a research collaboration between The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the University of Waterloo (UW) in Canada, funded by the InnoHK initiative of the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. We are located at the Hong Kong Science Park, New Territories, Hong Kong China. Having been running for almost five years, CEVR is excited to enter our second five years with three new key research platforms: 1) Preserving and Restoring Healthy Vision; 2) Next Generation Therapeutics & 3) Advanced Optometric Technologies. The mission of CEVR is to generate technologies that prevent, detect, treat and mitigate vision loss. The research positions of following project are now opened.
Project information
RP1.5s Project title: Novel Neuromodulation Approaches for Vision Enhancement in Adults
To develop the next generation of non-invasive brain stimulation technologies and protocols to enable optimal rehabilitation of vision across a range of eye and brain disorders that affect sight.
Required skills and job duty
The appointees will assist the project leaders in the research project: “Novel Neuromodulation Approaches for Vision Enhancement in Adults”. The tasks include project development, study design/protocol, ethics application, experimental setup, literature research, model testing, hardware and software development for innovative instrument, data collection, data analysis, and preparation of manuscripts. The talent is also required to assist with the commercialization of the invention whenever applicable.
Qualification
Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow posts should have a doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification in Vision Science, Psychology, Neuroscience, Optometry, Ophthalmology, Engineering Rehabilitation or other related disciplines.
Applicants for the Research Associate posts should have a master’s degree or an equivalent qualification in one of the said disciplines.
Applicants for the Research Assistant posts should have an honours degree or an equivalent qualification in one of the said disciplines.
The appointees will be based in Hong Kong China. Overseas graduates are welcome to apply, the qualification awarding institution should be a top 100 institutions for STEM-related subjects in QS/Shanghai Jiao Tong Uni/Times Higher Education world university rankings. Remuneration
Monthly salary: Research Assistant (HKD20000); Research Associate (HKD 23000); Postdoctoral Fellow (HKD35000 + living allowance HKD 10000).
