ObstAR is an augmented reality (AR) software designed to help individuals with various types of vision loss—such as central, blurred, or peripheral vision loss—navigate their environments independently. By utilizing a Bionic Depth Detection Algorithm, the software provides real-time obstacle detection, scene description, and object identification. It integrates Smart OCR and voice instructions to guide users safely, reducing reliance on traditional aids like white canes or guide dogs.
Individuals with visual impairments may experience different types of vision loss. These can be caused by various factors such as accidents, underlying neurological or ocular conditions, or ageing. To navigate independently in their environments, visually impaired individuals require a safe, affordable, and technologically advanced solution that fits their individual impairment needs.
ObstAR is an augmented reality software that aims to provide visually impaired individuals with the means to navigate independently, minimizing the need for alternative assistive technologies such as guidance canes, dogs, or human assistance.
