World Sight Day 2025: Bringing Advanced Eye Technologies to Everyone!

In celebration of World Sight Day on October 10, 2025 (Friday), the InnoHK Centre for Eye and Vision Research (CEVR) collaborated with the Hong Kong Federation of Innovation and Invention (HKFii) to host an event on September 26, 2025. The center welcomed up to 30 HKFii members from various disciplines, providing them with an opportunity to gain in-depth insights into our innovative technologies and products designed to enhance eye health.

The event successfully aimed to inform HKFii members about CEVR’s groundbreaking eye vision research technologies while fostering a collaborative community focused on innovation.

Participants experienced firsthand the latest advancements in eye vision technologies and learned how to maintain eye health and prevent vision impairment. To deepen their understanding of CEVR’s research efforts, we introduced three key projects:

• Eye-On-a-Chip Device: A rapid, cost-effective testing solution that mimics eye functionality for researchers and pharmacists.
• ObstAR: An Augmented Reality (AR) device designed to assist visually impaired individuals in detecting obstacles in their surroundings.
• Structured Light Observation and Perception Evaluation(SLOPE)Device for the assessment of macular health 

Members were highly engaged, expressing curiosity about the research projects and actively participating in discussions with our researchers about potential collaborations.

The event fostered valuable interactions between industry partners and the research community, enhancing awareness of vision health.
