## Aims This project aims to develop structured light imaging technology for early detection of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and myopia-related retinal damage, enabling timely intervention to prevent vision loss. ## Background AMD and myopia-related retinal changes are leading causes of blindness but often detected too late for effective treatment. Structured light technology offers new imaging capabilities for these conditions. ## Work to be Done The project will develop structured light imaging systems optimized for retinal imaging, create algorithms for automated detection of early pathological changes, validate against current imaging standards, and develop screening protocols. ## Benefits Benefits include (1) earlier detection of potentially blinding conditions, (2) objective automated assessment reducing reliance on specialist expertise, (3) better monitoring of disease progression, and (4) wider screening availability. ## Impact This technology will enable earlier intervention for AMD and myopia-related complications, preserving vision for countless patients worldwide.
