## Aims This project aims to develop an Extended Reality Visual Intelligence System (XRVIS) for remote visual assessment and enhancing safety and quality of life for people with visual impairment. ## Background People with visual impairment face challenges in daily activities and have limited access to specialized assessment. Extended reality technologies offer new possibilities for assistance and remote care. ## Work to be Done The project will develop XR-based visual assessment tools for remote evaluation, create assistive systems that enhance environmental awareness, integrate AI for real-time hazard detection, and conduct user testing with visually impaired populations. ## Benefits Benefits include (1) improved access to specialist assessment through tele-health, (2) enhanced independence and safety in daily activities, (3) real-time assistance navigating unfamiliar environments, and (4) better rehabilitation outcomes through immersive training. ## Impact XRVIS will transform support for people with visual impairment, enabling greater independence and improving quality of life through innovative technology.
