R.P 2.3 Developing Next-Generation Therapeutic Agents for Glaucoma

Developing Next-Generation Therapeutic Agents for Glaucoma

Overview

Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide, characterized by raised intraocular pressure (IOP). Addressing the limitations of existing treatments, the study focuses on developing novel interventions that not only lower intraocular pressure but also provide neuroprotective benefits. Research activities include advancing a flavonoid-based therapy with dual efficacy, developing a dietary supplement formulation incorporating patented plant extracts, and optimizing a traditional Chinese medicine–based prescription through collaboration with specialized drug development partners. Together, these approaches explore diverse and complementary treatment pathways for glaucoma management.
